It was about three hours after the sun went down when Adair headed downstairs. He was renting a small studio above one of the Toreador clubs. Tonight he wore a pair of nice black leather pants and a white poet shirt. Around his neck was as always, his pentagram. He pushed hair behind a pointed ear. His eyes were a dark grey tonight, almost black. Other than the pentagram he wore no jewelry as he came down the back stairs and entered the main club. He could hear a lot of noise and could feel the presence of many vampires. He almost darted out the back door but remembered he'd left his coat the coat check so he slid into the main bar room with a sigh. He glanced around warily, he'd only been in Chicago a week or two. He'd come for a fashion show and hadn't done the rounds of the clan heads or done the meeting of the Prince. He knew if he were human, his heart would be racing. As it was, it was sort of fast for a born vampire. He took a deep breath noticing the artwork that was being displayed and shook his head. This must be the show that his friend Mikelo had been bragging about last night. He'd gotten in near dawn and hadn't felt like listening to the overenthusiastic vampire.
He supposed since it was near Samhain, the show made sense. It was focused on the dark half of the year and a tribute to the dark gods. Almost everyone in the club was a vampire of some sort so it must be opening night. He cursed silently wishing Mikelo had warned him when he was more awake so that he could've been gone from here. He did have some pottery pieces and a ballad or two that he could contribute but since he didn't live with this nest full time, he didn't need to contribute. In fact, he wasn't sure how long he'd even be in Chicago for. He headed toward the coat closet ignoring the people when he felt an older vampire behind him. He whirled around, forcing a mask of polite interest onto his face.

Isaac had awoken to an early sunset that day. Tonight was a meeting of the Maelaerna. Almost all the members, both his children and the sworn servants located in both Chicago and other cities were holding a meeting that night. It was mostly just a ritual and formality, and served primarily as a way for the family to have a reunion. Isaac and his family were meeting in one of the clubs that one of the family's servant soldiers owned and operated when not doing Isaac's bidding. The club was a low level one but prosperous and had a good reputation. With Samhain aproaching it made for a good excuse for a family reunion.
Isaac dresses himself as he usually does, with elegance and taste, but nothing excesively flashy or showy. Upon the lapel of his suit he pins the small insignia of his family. A silver cross and lily. He smirked as he usually did, that had been what he'd found layed upon his grave when the vampire who'd turned him had come for him during the night. A thousand years old now he was powerful by vampire standards.
A quick meal of food and blood provided by one of his household servants and he heads to Chicago's north side. His car pulls up outside the club. Two vampire guards stand watch outside and Isaac can feel six more of the family's soldiers patroling the rooftops nearby, with such a gathering of the family there would be no chances taken that would jepordize the family. They bow respectfully, also wearing the silver pins that signified their allegiance to the family.
Inside dozens of occpants crowd the club, mostly members of the family, but not all, a smattering of non affiliates or members of other families were there. With Samhain aproaching the city's darker side was out in force and a party was to be had. Every vampire and non vampire in the club hushed slightly at his entry but after a moment return to their prior actions. Isaac was not one known for showy greetings or entrances after all, and as this was a social gathering he saw no reason to deviate from his normal habits. He turns over his cloak and cane to his son who moves it into another room and then returns to watching the club while Isaac mills about the room. He greets his children, both born and otherwise. To his servants who had come he greets them warmly as well. Then he makes his way about speaking quietly about allegiances and alliances with the other sires in North America. While he is speaking to one of the children of the sire who controlled St. Louis beside him a vampire who he did not know. Isaac motions the other vampire for silence and looks at this new vampire. His eyes flick up and down taking in the vampire as he studies him. Finally he raises his wine glass, takes a drink and then afterwards speaks. "Do you have some buisness with me?"

"Um, don't think so, Sir." He kept his voice soft and the accent of Venice slipped into it slightly. He had noble blood that was obvious but also as obvious was that he was Toreador and used to not having much at the moment. He glanced toward the exit and blushed a little, "Was on my way out. Forgot they were having an event but I needed to grab my coat.I'm renting one of the rooms, Sir." He could tell the man was powerful and he was mildly afraid but he wouldn't admit to it. He just wanted to find himself a meal and explore the night. At least all his business in the city would be concluded in the next week or so and he could move on.

Isaac glances him over once before smirking. "We will not mind if you stay, it is almost Samhain after all and you are not the only outsider here. Stay if you wish." With that he gives a subtle motion of his hand dismissing Adair before walking back off into the crowd. The party and reunion continues as it had before simply ignoring Adair, it was of no concern if outsiders were present, this was not a time of war and any were welcome after all.

"If you wish it." He smiled a little accepting he was outranked. Besides, the male was intriguing even though he wasn't going to go chasing after the other male or anything. And he was right, Samhain was near enough. He had forgotten about the sabbat slightly and wasn't sure what he was going to be doing on it but he would at least light a candle and perform the traditional rituals to ensure the proper passage of souls to the afterlife as well as to guide the spirits of the dead on their one night free to wander again.
